WELCOME TO SAINT NICHOLAS
It is an honor to introduce myself as the principal of Saint Nicholas Catholic School and to join this extraordinary school community. I come to you with 10 years teaching and 12 years school administrator experience. Most of that time was with the Bremerton School District providing a safe, welcoming environment for their most vulnerable students. Through this work, I was able to bring God’s love to those who may not have encountered it otherwise. I am grateful for the opportunity Bremerton offered me but know that God is calling me to something more. I am excited to fully integrate my work and my faith at Saint Nicholas.
My husband and I have a blended family with seven children ranging in age from 20-39. Three of our children attended catholic elementary and high schools; two attended a catholic university. The catholic education they received prepared them to be in this world without succumbing to it. They have the academic knowledge to pursue their goals with the integrity and grace that distinguishes them as Catholics. As a parent, nothing makes me prouder than seeing my children intentionally live their faith. As the principal of Saint Nicholas, I will place equal emphasis on faith formation and academics as we continue to grow as a community centered on Christ and our students.
As we begin this new journey together, I ask that we reflect on a quote from Saint Catherine of Siena,
“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.”
As I reflect on this, it becomes clear that setting the world on fire requires us to develop the unique talent God has given each of us and to bring that into the world. As educators, we are tasked with uncovering our students’ uniqueness and differentiating instruction to support their individual development. My hope is that we continue to nurture a warm, caring, safe, faith filled environment where all students develop a love of learning and become who God meant them to be. The fire we spark in them will change the world in ways nothing else can. I pray that you find God’s love and peace as we embark on this journey together.
In Christ through Mary,
Mrs. Kristen Morga, O.P.
